Today, updated prerequisites and skills training ensure that PADI Instructors continue to teach to a higher standard. During your instructor training program, you learn to manage and adapt the PADI System to meet your individual student needs. INSTRUCTOR CLASS REQUIREMENTS

PREREQUISITE

REQUIRED GEAR

Current EFR or CPR / First Aid Training

PADI Approved Physical signed by your Physician

Pass Pre-Assessment Exam

(Minimum age 18 to Register)

• Basic Gear (Purchased in OpenWater)
• Full SCUBA Gear (Gear Ownership is Required at this Level)

   

  • Regulator System
  • B. C.
  • Tank
  • Wetsuit & Hood
  • Weight Belt

  Plus the Following needed for the Instructor Class:

• Dive Knife & Slate*
• Compass*
• Whistle*
• Safety Sausage*
• Pocket Mask*

*Note, this Equipment is Required at ALL Dive Shops and is not included in the Class.

FOR COMPLETION

REFERENCE MATERIALS

• Attend All Class Sessions and Complete All Assignments
• Attend All Pool Sessions and Demonstrate All Skills
• Demonstrate All Skills in Open Water Sessions
• Satisfactorily Pass Written Exams
• Satisfactorily Pass Oral Exams

Note: Following completion of the PADI Instructor Development Course, you will still be required to pass the "PADI Instructor Exam" prior to receiving your Instructor Certification.
