Why Choose PADI Dive Training?

  Now that you've completed the PADI "Entry Level" diver program, it's time to explore many of Scuba's most interesting and useful skills. At PACIFIC WILDERNESS our PADI Advanced Diver Program will put the basic skills learned in your Entry Level class to maximum use.

As part of the Advanced program you will learn the basics in three exciting areas of diving: Underwater Navigation (using a compass), Deep Diving (80-100 feet) and Night Diving (thrilling!). In addition, all students receive training in two other areas of SCUBA diving. These areas vary according to which Advanced Diver program you choose.

Both programs listed below qualify for the PADI Advanced Diver Card, the most recognized Advanced Card in the world!

  GROUP - WEEKEND BEACH & BOAT DIVING CLASS

 This is our most Popular program and also your Best Value. The beach and boat dives program incorporates 15 hours of Instruction with two Local Morning and one evening Beach Dive plus two final Certification dives off Catalina Island (On a Dive Boat, not the "Express").  Tuition even includes the Catalina Boat dives to make your learning experience more fun and exciting!

We recommend this Course to most Students for Several Reasons:

2. It gives you additional Beach & Boat Diving Experience.
3. Diving Catalina Island is always Fantastic!
4. This Course has the Most Varied Schedule Available.

 This is our Favorite Program and also Big Fun! The Catalina Weekend program incorporates 15 hours of Instruction with two full days on Catalina Island! 

Friday evening at approximately 7 pm you'll depart from San Pedro or Long Beach via Catalina Express to Avalon Harbor, Catalina.

Saturday morning you'll make two Dives at Casino Point then have the rest of the day off to enjoy Avalon.  In the early evening you'll make your night dive then have the rest of the evening off.

Sunday morning you'll make your final two Beach dives off Casino Point  to complete your Advanced Certification.  You'll be wrapped up by noon and depart back to the mainland at about 4 pm.

We recommend this Course to many Students for Several Reasons:

1. It's a whole lot of fun!
2. It's like a "Mini Vacation".
3. Diving Catalina Island is always Fantastic!
4. This Course is a great way to meet new friends.

NOTE: All Condo's and boat reservations are booked more than 30 days in advance - Because of this we may not be able to accommodate special requests.  Additionally, Condos require full payment up front to guarantee availability - We pay this fee based on the number of people who register for the class.  Should you wish to cancel after you have already made payment our Cancellation Policy is;

• Less than 30 days from the departure date - we will try to sell your spot to another diver.  If we are unable to sell your spot, you will be charged a $155 cancellation fee to cover condo losses.
• Less than 7 days from the departure date - we will try to sell your spot to another diver.  If we are unable to sell your spot, you will be charged the full $399 less the $25 "C - card fee.

Private - Beach & Boat Dives Program

 Our most Popular Private Program. The Private Beach & Boat Dives program incorporates 15 hours of Instruction Customized to your Schedule with Five Supervised Dives to Complete your Advanced Certification.

We recommend this Course to Students for Several Reasons:

1. It gives you more Personalized Attention.
2. It allows those with Difficult or Varying Work Schedules to take Classes.
3. It gives your Group the ability to take a Private Advanced Class with just your Friends at a comparable Price to Standard "Pre-Scheduled" Courses (Based on 4 or More Students)
4. This Course has the Most Varied Schedule Available because you set it!

Classes Size of One up to Eight 

• Customized Course Schedule for you or your Group Only.
• Tuition Fee (PRIVATE)
• All Necessary Books, Red Log Book & all Forms.
• PADI Advanced Certification Card.
• (5) Specialty Dives with Instructor
• Catalina Island Boat Trip

• Briefing Time  - Dedicate 1-2 Hours total time. This may be done in One evening prior to your Dives.
• Beach Dives - Dedicate 4-6 Hours total time. Two Beach Dives may be done in One Morning usually from 7 am till 11 am. We usually follow with your night Dive the same evening just prior to sunset.  Orange County residents will typically dive from Laguna Beach, LA County residents will dive from Redondo Beach.  Beach Dives One & Two are usually on Saturday Morning with the night dive following Saturday Evening.
• Boat Dives - You will need to Dedicate a Full Day. Our Boat Trips are scheduled a Year in Advance and can be Viewed Here. Look up any "Shop Boat Dive" and use those dates in planning your Schedule. 

Helpful Hint:  If you book your Private Class to take place on two consecutive days (Saturday / Sunday for example) you can save on Rental gear with our weekend "Package Rate of $60.
